Problems installing 11iv2
I am trying to install 11.23 on it off CDROM.
However, it hangs and does not get installed.
I get the following:
EFI shell version 1.10
Loading SCSI
Loading Gigabit Ethernet adapter
\EFI\BOOT\AUTO
Loading: CDROM
Starting: CDROM
AUTO ==> boot ::INSTALL
seconds left until autoboot - 0
AUTOBOOTING .........> system memory = 24569 MB
Loading section 0
................... complete
Loading section 1
.................... complete
Loading system table
Loading RAM disk file (::IINSTALLFS)
...................
complete
Launching ::INSTALL
SIZE: Text 262295K + Data: 6286k 5380K = Total 37970K
And that is where it hangs. Why won't it boot off the CD?

Re: Problems installing 11iv2
How long did you leave it at this point, it can take a very long time to come back, I was just wondering if you had left it and gone for a coffee to see if it carried on?

JASH

Re: Problems installing 11iv2
How long do you think it should take based on your experience?

Re: Problems installing 11iv2
It can take up to 20 minutes, depending upon different things, especially memory. I would leave it, have a coffee, cigarette and a mars bar, then amble back and have a look. If it does fail, it will eventually come back and tell you an error message.

JASH

Re: Problems installing 11iv2
Your system is a workstation and workstation support for 11.23 is stopped, the last supported version was sometime in 2004.
Could this be the reason?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
