Problems to start CDE
I have the following message to start CDE:
-------------------------------------------
X server: Error in /etc/X11/X0screens (line 612)
Device name invalid or missing after keyword "Screen".
X server: Will try default "/dev/crt"
Failure to open default device file `/dev/crt`.
Please either specify the proper device filename in
your /etc/X11/X0screens file or fix `/dev/crt`. This filename is either
non-existent or is not a character special file.
Fatal server error:
giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 239): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
-------------------------------------------
How procceed to solve this problem ?
Very thanks

Re: Problems to start CDE
/etc/rc.config.d/xfs
make sure the first variable is set to 1. No font server, no login.
The other files in your errors and make sure they have not been modified.
Also make sure the DISPLAY variable is set,.

Re: Problems to start CDE
I presume this must be on a graphics workstation or server with a graphics card installed.
Advise is to :
cd /dev/
rmsf *crt*
insf -evd framebuf
this should create the correct graphics device files.
If the above fails could you report on the following :
graphinfo output, H/W involved, ll /dev/*crt* , and the contents (uncommented only) in your /etc/X11/X0screens.
ps when did the problem start occuring, has this ever worked or has something changed ?
