if any process showing maximum utilisation of resources how can i reduce. do i need to stop the ideal process or any other way to reduce the exsisting resources which is showing maximum utilisation of resources

Glance is a good tool to show this. It has a resource report for major parameters that will show yo uif your sysem is stressed, with a high water mark display.
See the kernel parameter maxuprc to see if any user is using too many processes.
Please tell us the OS of the server, and what in general it does. Ex rp5450 running oracle.

Peace Mukkala,
If your environment is an Enterprise OE 11i environment -- then you have a tool called Process Resource Manager that you can use to limit reource usage by a process, a process group or a group of users.
It even has a GUI which you can launch on an X environment:
/opt/prm/bin/xprm
