process wait reason is cache
Hi all,
Just a quick question regarding Glance Plus. In GPM, I am monitoring some gzip processes and am finding that gpm reports the process as spending about 60% of it's wait time waiting for "CACHE", and about 20% on "IO". I am wondering what the difference is. Also, I would have expected the wait reason to be IO, not cache, that suprises me, can anyone explain if this is abnormal? Do I need to increase or decrease cache perhaps?
Should I recompile gzip from source for any potential performance increases?
Thanks all.
