On an 11iv1 MTOE I tried to set up a shadow password system using pwconv.
pwck only complained about some non existent home directories, but that's ok.
pwconv produced the message 'system is not yet in trusted mode' and exited.
My understanding is that shadow pw system and trusted system are two different things.
Any ideas what's wrong?
btw. Though I have /usr/sbin/pwconv, I can not find any pwunconv. Shouldn't they come together?
many thanks
Georg

Re: pwconv error
Didn't set it up myself.
How can I check?

Re: pwconv error
To verify that the bundle was indeed installed, do:
# swlist | grep -i shadow
You should find:
# ShadowPW.SHADOW B.11.11.03 HP-UX 11.11 Shadow Password Enablement

Re: pwconv error
The bundle is not installed - so it's obvious what to do next :)
Though what confuses me a bit is, what sense is there in having a pwconv when I can't use it?
Anyway - Thanks for your help.

Re: pwconv error
That explains.
Now I can sleep peacefully again.
And start to download the shadow bundle...
