question if inode
Hi everyone:
i found all files 's time of last modification of the inode was changed in my server, by ll -c , but the permission , ownership and other attribute was not changed.
does anyone know the reason.
example:
ll swcopy
-r-sr-xr-x 11 root bin 2326528 Nov 9 2004 swcopy
ll -u swcopy
-r-sr-xr-x 11 root bin 2326528 Jan 16 00:00 swcopy
ll -c swcopy
-r-sr-xr-x 11 root bin 2326528 Jan 14 12:49 swcopy <------
does it relate backup?
thanks

Re: question if inode
Hi:
Did you do a 'fbackup'? 'fbackup' resets file's lastaccess timestamps ('atime') after it backs them up. This changes the 'ctime' attribute, otherwise known as the last inode change timestemp, as shown by 'ls -lc'. The 'mtime' (last modification time) is not changed by 'fbackup' in any way.
Regards!

Re: question if inode
thanks
we use netbackup for full backup. but this didn't happen on other servers.
