Re: question

Hi,

None of the extra device file wll get created, but if you are using HDLM (Hitachi dynamic Link Manager) one more device file will be created in /dev/dsk/chntmdo (here n,m and o will be according to lun number) same will be created in /dev/rdsk directory too.

This device file should be used while configuring LVM volumes.

Re: question

Use rmsf to remove unwanted device files. These files may be recreated if you run insf without any options. So in the future you may want to use insf -H specifying a specific hardware path to restrict insf.

Re: question

Re: question

If it's simliar to EMC - they may be "gate keepers" and are needed - so don't remove!

If you do a diskinfo on them - what do you get back?
