I'm not able to ftp to one of my server with the following error.Any idea?
421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection

Hi:

First, make sure that the 'ftp' service is not commented-out in '/etc/inetd.conf'. If it is, uncomment it and restart 'inetd':

# inetd -c

too many possibilities. tcp -wrapper, user authentication?

Did you used to before?

If not, then more then likely it isn't enabled...

You must enable in inetd.conf and run
inetd -c
