"bad magic" error on install of XSWGR1100
Just went to 11.0 OS 32 bit, and noticed
I didn't have XSWGR1100 installed.
Did swinstall and chose the manage patch
under actions and put an 'x' in both buckets
per HP. It passed the analysis phase with
no errors. Went to install and it suspends
with write failed ./vmunix_test
"bad magic"
/stand was at 65% where it normally always
is. checked after this error and it's at
100%
anyone else had this problem?
What can be done to get it installed?
Mike

Re: "bad magic" error on install of XSWGR1100
Mike, it appears the /stand was not quite big enough. Swinstall can't estimate exactly the size of the new kernel and it appears yours was just a little too big. Since this appears to be a new install and hopefully you haven't lost too much time you could 1) re-install with a larger /stand filesystem or 2) bravely remove vmunix.prev (and vmunix_test etc.) - BUT NOT vmunix and hope for the best. I always configure a larger than default /stand to avoid these problems. At the very least you are going to have to remove your vmunix_test.
I realize that I've given you no really good options.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
