RAM usage

Hi,
How we can check RAM usage in % for daily monitoring purpose.

There is multiple command:
# top (not very good for memory but very usefull for cpu usage)
# sar (much more useful for memory monitoring, see man sar)
# vmstat (see man vmstat)

Otherwise there a very good application named "Glance" for your purpose, but it's not free...

Hi Mehul,

You can use vmstat(1). Check the man page to see if -v option is being supported.This would give you a wide range of virtual and physical memory statistics.

If all else fails, various options of ps(1) will get you memory
size on a per-process basis and you may add those up.
