Re: .inf files problem
Hi:
I have a HP Pavilion 8860, with a Samsung CD-R/RW SW-208F (factory)and HP DVD Writer 200i (I installed) and I replaced the display card (Nvidia/Vanta) with a ATI Radeon, for reasons which will become obvious. I installed a TV Wonder ATI/VE card and it was incompatible with Nvidia, so I got a Radeon 7000 AGP Card. This solved one issue, but the only way I could get the drivers to load for tv wonder, was to delete software for DVD Writer and CD-R/RW. Here's the problem. My computer NOW, won't recognize either rom drive, just a and c. It says damaged or missing .inf entries in the registry when I do the uninstall/re-install or update driver function for the rom drives (DVD Writer & CD-R/RW) How can I resolve this issue, short of reformatting my hard drive (C:\) because I can't even re-install XP, because it's on a CD. Please help me before I tear the rest of what little hair I have left, out of my head!!! THANX SO MUCH !!!!!!

Re: Re: .inf files problem
Hi,
You've landed in the HP-UX forum. You might want to try posting your question over on the Windows based workstations forum:

Good luck!
