Hi,
I am planning to migrate printers from one machine to another by copying the spooler configuration file from one to another using SAM. I wanted to know do i need to have the lpsched down on the machine from which I am importing the spooler configuration?
Thanks,
Chirag.

Solution
I don't think it makes a difference. Its not like a real rdbms product that won't copy properly when running.
Having the spooler down is a good precaution, as is a backup in case you make a mistake and clobber a configuration file.

Re: Re: Spooler Configuration.
Here's one example of how to do a transfer and we don't need no stinkin' SAM --- and (if this applies) it also illustrates the painless conversion from the obsolete JetAdmin to the newer JetDirect software.
