Reboot after panic:

Reboot after panic:

My L2000 system running HP11i rebooted last night showing a "Reboot after panic: , isr.ior = 0'a627ffe1.c0000000'e
df86040" in the shutdown log.

I've also attached my tombstone ts99.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Reboot after panic:

Hi Mark,

Your TS99 is pointing towards hardware,i would suggest you to consult HP Engg.few things i want to know.

1)why did you rebooted the server??
2)did you tried booting in single user mode.
3)did you tried booting with different kernel??

regards,
Rajesh G.

Hello!

The best for this things is to connect
with HP support that they will check the
cods of the panic and reboot.

Re: Reboot after panic:

If a panic string is recorded in shutdownlog then in most cases the problem is with O/S. Conversely, if no panic string is recorded then HW is usually indicated. So begin with checking your patches.

Listed below are all 11i patches associated to an HPMC:

Re: Reboot after panic:

Hi,

log a call to HP support.

They will find the root cause by analyzing tombstones and/or crash-dump.

Re: Reboot after panic:

Hi

Do you have any crash dump files?

Re: Reboot after panic:

To find the panic message:

tail /etc/shutdownlog

--OR--

more the dump's INDEX file.

The panic string is the fourth line down.

Re: Reboot after panic:

Look at the DocId: UXDNKBRC00004522 on HOw to find out the cause of Panic type: isr.ior.
ISR stands for Interrupt Space Register
IOR stands for Interrupt Offset Register

Re: Reboot after panic:

To check for a PATCH use this command:

swlist -l filset | grep -i PH##_#####

i.e.

swlist -l file | grep -i PHSS_25685

Bundles may not contain the patch. You have to check for the patch specifically.

Re: Reboot after panic:

"Reboot after panic: , isr.ior = " is indicative of a HW fault. Open a case with Hardware Support to determine the cause. For Hardware faults, we do not need Q4 output, unless specially requested by Hardware Support. For Hardware faults, we will look at the hardware registers in memory, the tombstone file, etc.
