ReflectionsX and LAN Console

I am trying to build a connection file in ReflectionsX for telneting directly into a LAN Console. Have not been able to get it working.

If I use Reflections to open a regular xterm or hpterm session, I can then type "telnet ipofLANconsole" and it goes right in just fine.

It seems like the problem is related to the login prompts for the GSP, they are unlike anything else in HPUX. ReflectionsX also seems to require and userid, and the GSP does not have one.

Anyone get this working?

Thanks,
Tim

Re: ReflectionsX and LAN Console

I have tried this as well. Problem i had was trying to get Reflections to send a ^Ecf signal to force a connection. I admit that I didnt try very hard as just going in through a terminal session is simple enough.

Re: ReflectionsX and LAN Console

Look at the advanced settings button on the bottom of the x client manager. (Next to 'connect')

You can specify what you will see as a responce, and what you want reflection to do about it.

Hope it helps

Re: ReflectionsX and LAN Console

Rather than use Xwindows, you might use Reflection for HP (not Reflection/X) which is the terminal emulator. The macro recorder allows you to record the login process, then play it back when you start the window. The terminal emulator is much more powerful than Reflection/X and does not need to 'borrow' a program (like xterm or hpterm) from another computer.

Reflection for HP offers scalable fonts (just make the window bigger and the fonts grow bigger), a powerful scripting language and 100% HP terminal compatibility (something that is not true for hpterm!). The scripting language allows you to create your own menu bar items. I have Resize and Colors on my terminal windows. With Resize, I can change the window scale to 132x24, 132,48, 80x24, and even a mini-80x24 window to watch processes like Glance.
