Regarding MCSG

I ahve two node cluster..PMA pkg is running on BRPMA-1P.on the in ars05060 / BRPMA-1P is scheduled to reboot weekly at 02:00 ET but it appears to be back up around 04:00 ET.Due to this application people lost the connection with PMA. During the reboot of brpma-1p and package hadn’t failed over to brpma-2p.But it is not a issue.Mian issue we are facing after rebooting of BRPMA-1P pkg not coming up automatically on BRPMA-1P.We have to do it manually every time after reboot. We want to pkg come auotmatically after reboot.Could you please suggest on this?

Re: Regarding MCSG

in your package configuration script, there is an option like AUTO_RUN. this must be YES.

Re: Regarding MCSG

Shalom,

Please note, this is not windows it is Unix. Many people run their MCSG clusters for months or even a year without reboot.

Yes configure you package to auto start and your volume group to auto activate, but consider rebooting less often.

Re: Regarding MCSG

I'm with Stephen's comments whole-heartedly on the reboot matter. But that might be something to be answered on another post.

Your package didn't fail over and it didn't restart. I see two main issues, so you have the Auto_run thing. Curious - when you run cmviewcl -v, is the pkg "disabled"? Maybe that is why it didn't failover?

What were the messages in the logs. What is the status of the packages?

Just a thought,

Re: Regarding MCSG

Though your setup looks funny, all due respect to it as I have seen such cases at my previous work places.

Start looking at the below things.

1) Does ur cluster start after reboot. if not check for the file /etc/rc.config.d/cmcluster and ensure AUTOSTART_CMCLD=1, so that the node will join the cluster after reboot.
2) Then check your package configuration file and ensure that AUTO_RUN is set to YES.

If you want the pkg to failover during reboot. ensure that the package switching is enabled using the command "cmmodpkg -n -e "

Cheers,
uvk
