Re: REMEXD daemon

There was no exact match in itrc for remexd

I think its part of the Berkley protocols, which are insecure, but permit remote login and execution.

Here is a search based on one of the functions, remesh

http://us-support.external.hp.com/emse/bin/doc.pl/sid=8201d4c10b247848f1?todo=search&searchtext=+remesh&x=38&y=9&searchcriteria=allwords&searchtype=SEARCH_TECH_DOCS&searchtype=SEARCH_MANUAL&searchtype=SEARCH_FORUMS&searchcategory=ALL&rn=25&presort=rank

Seccure Shell does the same thing but is secure.

I'm stretching a bit, but my assumption is a typo or something. Otherwise this post is valuless and should be zero pointed.

Re: REMEXD daemon

Charles,

It's part of the HA Tracker client (for Mission Critical systems). It sends info about the system to a HP Support node (listed in /etc/rc.config.d/remexd).

Regards,
Laurens
Don't mention it...
