remote printer down ?

i have many remote printers (under Win2000) configured on a HP-UX server.

some printers may go down sometimes (down and busy). i'd like to khnow why they go down? and what to do

Hi,
Since this are all remote printers the unix host doesn't have direct control over it. rlpstat should give some details.

Remote printers are dumb printers for hp-ux. At most looking at lp log file and output of rlpstat will give some info.
There is no substitute to HARDWORK
