We are trying to install a remote printer in SAM. I am getting the following error message. Does anyone out there has seen this??
The printer is physically hooked up to remote server. Remote server is on our network. Following are the details.
Here is the problem.
Printer name: testprt
Remote system name: 43.74.96.233
Remote printer name: LPT1 ( This is the printername defined in remote system)
The following is the error message I get.
The remote printer "LPT1 (whose location is LPT1 on
43.74.96.233)" already exists on this system.
Steps taken:
1) Run
lpstat -t <--------shows nothing
2) #ll /etc/lp/interface
#ll /etc/lp/cinterface
#ll /etc/lp/sinterface
#ll /etc/lp/member
#ll /var/spool/lp/request <-------all the show no LPT1 file inside.
Appreciate your help.
