Remote Printer Setup

Thanks folks! for all your thoughts and suggestions but this still has not solved my problem. The rlpdaemon file is there on the host but is not running and also when I run the lpstat -r command on the host, I get a message scheduler is not running. Any more suggestions please.

Thanks

Re: Remote Printer Setup

If the scheduler is not running, issue the 'lpsched' as root.

Re: Remote Printer Setup

Start the scheduler lpsched. If not starting, check /var/spool/lp/SCHEDLOCK file

Re: Remote Printer Setup

Check the /var/spool/lp/log file. See what errors exist in the file (if any).

Re: Remote Printer Setup

If the scheduler is stopped and it can't be started,

check for a:
/var/spool/lp/SCHEDLOCK file and!
/var/spool/lp/FIFO file.

Remove them and try again to start the scheduler with lpsched.

Re: Remote Printer Setup

Make sure that the latest "LP Spooler" patches are installed on the server. GO to the IT Resource center and see the latest patches.

Re: Remote Printer Setup

Hi Dipo

Use the lpshut and lpsched commands to stop and start the print scheduler.
Check the /var/adm/lp/log file for any error messages
