Remote Printer Setup
All,
I am experiencing a problem with setting up a troy_xcd printer format as a remote printer. I have built the printers with the name, IP and utilizing "TEXT_S1" as the designator for serial text and selected BSD. Once the printer is built, it keeps locking all of the network printers and causes problems with the spooler locking up and leaving the SCHEDLOCK file out in /var/spool/lp/. Does anyone have any insight as to what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks, Tom

Re: Remote Printer Setup
With 3rd party print servers you should use SAM.
Create Remote printer Give name, use ip address as server, port is RAW
This will create a LPD type printer in Queue system.
You may want to check Troy web site for printer application like HP Jetdirect or Emulex's printer utility.

Re: Remote Printer Setup
Adding them as remote printers is probably not the best way.
Third party printers (Like Xerox, Lexmark) should provide drivers to support their printers with the native spooler.
