I created a few remote printers , but some don't work and need to be added again. I've tried removing them from SAM but it runs forever without deleting the printer and I have to kill my sam process to get it to stop. What could be the reason it's not removing the printers ? How do I remove it then ? I am in Pretoria and the printers are located all over South Africa.
Thank you

Re: Removing a remote printer
Hi,
The usual reason for remote printers not being removed through sam is that alias/host name definitions cannot be resolved.
In other words the uniq quie name is okay but the host/alis name referenced does not exist in /etc/hosts or the ipaddress is not contactable.
lpadmin -x
as previously suggested is the best avenue to get round your problem.

Re: Removing a remote printer
In addition to the "lpadmin -x ", be sure to check in /etc/dt/appconfig/types/C for files named .dt . These should be removed also!!
