We just took and installed a Golden Image on a system that had some vPars Software in the image. It turns out that the server we just installed the image on will not be vPar'd and we wanted to remove the software from the image since it won't be used. When trying to remove the vPars we get the following message:
There is unmarked software which depends on software that is marked forremove. The remaining software cannot operate properly without the software you plan to remove. In the Software Selection Window, Unmark what is currently marked OR mark what depends on it.Currently Marked Needs to be Marked
The session never lists any software bundles in this window. I have to kill the PID running the swremove to get out of all this. Is there something we're missing here to remove vPars??

Hi,
Here is a link on documentation regarding vpars:
it states:
Remove the vPars product only at the product level (VirtualPartition). Do NOT remove the vPars product at the bundle level (T1335AC or VPARSBASE). Recommended kernel patches are included in the vPars bundle; if the bundle is removed, these kernel patches will also be removed. For more information on bundles and patches, see the "Patch Management Guide for HP-UX 11.x" at http://docs.hp.com.
