At the first I mount the cdrom by /SD_CDROM as a pfs_mount and when I reach to a level that software need CD number 2. how I can replace the CD-1 with CD-2 ? Do I need to unmount it then mount it? becasue I can not remove the CD normaly.

Re: replace CD-1 with CD-2

Yes, you do need to pfs_umount the CD1, remove it, put in CD2 and then pfs_mount CD2.

When you invoke the Oracle installer, make ABSOLUTELY SURE you are NOT in the /SD_CDROM directory when you invoke it.

Hi,
To make it easier for you copy the first or the second CD in your hard disk.

Re: replace CD-1 with CD-2

Hi

just remember to do pfs_umount and not umount because this will stuck your system and will not realese your cd until you will do reboot !

Re: replace CD-1 with CD-2

In case you not always have permissions to mount or unmount yourself, but you can use SAM for installation:

->let SAM mount and unmount your CD. You do not have to mount yourself, because SAM can discover the CD and mount it itself on /SD_CDROM. After (partial) installation, SAM releases the CD for changing.

Wodish

In your reply you said "Voila - Oracle 8i is installed!
In order to actually USE it, you will need to
build your kernel with a lot of different parameters,
but you did not ask for that instruction ;-)"

I'm asking for it.

can you help
