Replace disk on ASM database.
Hi
How to replace faulty disk for Oracle DB that run with +ASM-Raw?. FYI, the ASM disk reside in HP disk array( hot-swapable ). Can I just replace it online and rebuild it? ...does it works like RAID 5 block level file system.?
Or maybe someone with ASM background can help?
DBA + SA = Uptime

Re: Replace disk on ASM database.
>>HP disk array( hot-swapable )<<
It does sounds to me (hot -swapable) meaning you can firmly unplug the defective disk and plug the Good disk "rebuilting the HP - array will rebuilt for you " you need just eye-ball Once the rebulit compelted,
verify with dd command to the replace disk,
Thanks,
Johnson
