Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

for the last week, at this same time frame i get "Done, but with errors" and cant load the page, for about 20 minutes. You asked for the url, but it was taking me to the page i wanted it just couldn't display it. I had initially thought it was a browser problem, but it happen every day at the same time, im sure this is a increase # of user type of problem.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

You have a cockroach the size of a volkswagen in the forum. I posted the last message to the URL below on Friday afternoon

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,1150,0xb4aaee3e323bd5118fef0090279cd0f9,00.html

It cut the message short and replaced my text with a couple of bogus links.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

This is bug #2 for the night. A whole reply to Ricardo is MIA and yes I remember the contents quite clearly and I got the usual message saying "yep we got the post"

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

Laurent,

It has been quite a chore to get logged in today. If I just went to forums.itrc.hp.com and clicked on the login link, then I got the error message below (this happened last night, and this morning - approx. 10:30 CT):

*******************
Could Not Open URL

The URL you requested,

/login/bin/doc.pl/forward/screen=loginServiceLoginForm/sid=null?TargetPage=http%3A//forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/,
does not exist
or is not retrievable at this HP IT Resource Center Web site.

(Error HTTP_404)
********************

Where it references 'this HP IT Resource Center Web site' it was a link to us-support3.external.hp.com. I have had problem in the past getting logged in when going to that particular server.

What I finally had to do so I could get logged in to post is go to itresourcecenter.hp.com and then click on login and then click on forums from there.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

Thanks Patrick!!!

I had the same problem as Patrick, and tried for about an hour to get loged in, even from the forum listing I was unable to login, but I was able to look at what was posted and thanks to Patrick providing the link, I was able to login. I tried numerous avenues as well including going to hp.com and tring to get loged in from there.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

Hi Laurent:

The inability to connect to the Forum via various links happened to me last week during shortly after the unscheduled downtime you had, hence I didn't think too much of it. Apparently, other people have had the problem since then. Here's a separate post from a little while ago describing the same:

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

We originally complained to our ASE 5 months ago regarind the slowness of getting into ITRC.
our original link was to http://us-support.external.hp.com, we were advised that this address would bypass the redirector that would take us to the best available server. We were advised and did change it to http://itrc.hp.com. This proved to be fruitless. Today I clicked on the IE (ver 5.5) icon and it took 3 and a half minutes, with the progress bar starting over 6 times to come up with the following address..

http://home2.itrc.hp.com/hm/1,,,00.html

and the main window had

The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Open the home2.itrc.hp.com home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
Click the Back button to try another link.
Click Search to look for information on the Internet.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

About an hour ago, the page slowed way down. It takes several minutes to load up the main page, and is slow opening threads as well, although that is faster than the main page.

Today I've been getting IE's "The page cannot be display page" about 25-30% of the times I've bounced around threads.

Hi, this is a different one. There is some maniac named, "love," posting questions from a test prep book and looking for the answers. This has been going on all day and it borders on spam. Thanks.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

Couldn't log in for several hours this morning. Looked like the entire forums area was down (profile, posts, etc). I could go to the hp site (which was slow, btw), but I would get server not responding errors when I tried to go to the forums, my profile, and a shortcut straight to the forums.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

WHAT WAS THE DEAL WITH THE FORUMS THIS MORNING?

It went from getting SSI errors to page not found to not even being able to ping the site.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

Did you kick in the turbochargers today?

I have never had the forums run so fast, but it may be due to folks taking vacations around the holiday.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

Periodically (last occurred 5/17), the forums site seems to disappear altogether. I'm not sure if it's a DNS issue or a web server down issue. If there are outages (scheduled or unscheduled), it would be really nice if there was some kind of note posted on the forums: "No you're not crazy - the forums didn't work today for a little while - sorry for the inconvience".

----------------------------------------------

Periodically, search returns no results(i.e. search for sendmail - nothing found); I don't have dates; it hasn't happened in the past few weeks.

----------------------------------------------

When folk post links to ITRC branches other than the US, I suspect the US folks can't log in. I can always grab the relevent document, and look for it at the US ITRC, but it sure would be nice if my US account was good at the European ITRC, so I could just click through to the docs.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]

Laurent,

I seem to be getting an inordinate number of "404 Object Not Found" errors today, especially in the past hour since I've gotten back from lunch (Central Time in the US -- current approx. 14:10). I have to hit Reload once or twice and then the page I want gets displayed. It's getting rather annoying today.
