restoring data with frecover
i have an eva 3000 linked to a rp7420 by fibre. i have mapped some diskspace on the eva to this server.
I have then exported this diskspace to a d-class server linked by tcp/ip.
i restore some data from the rp7420 using frecover. When i look at the data from the d-class it apears to have ben restored by 64435 rather than root.
i used the command frecover-Xvx
Can any one explain this?

Re: restoring data with frecover
It would appear, probably because of the World Wide Name on associated with the LUN that the restore user was interpreted as not being root.
In general, I use the same machine to make the fbackup and do the frecover. This seems to me with the amount of information you provide to be a LUN/WWN ownership issue.

Re: restoring data with frecover
Hi Bill,
What is the ownership of the files looking from the RP7420?. If they are owned by 'root', then it may be due to your 'exports' option.
Post your 'exportfs' output on the RP7400 and
'mount' output on D-class server.

You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try
