Re: Robert-Jan has migrated to Mt Olympus

Hi Robert-Jan,

Congrats with this major achievement! Always being proud that a Dutchie is doing well!
Now you can say: "If that won't work, I'll eat my hat!" without even getting sick.
Have one (or two) on me (it will be 30 degrees outside today, so that won't be a problem!)

Cheerio / groetjes,

Renarios

Re: Robert-Jan has migrated to Mt Olympus

Congratulations Robert-Jan,

You've reached the (temporary) summit of the ITRC forums. Enjoy the view you've got from there. And then the journey continues. I'm pretty sure that new rankings will appear when I'm getting closer to Mt. Olympus ;-)

Binnen een paar maanden volgt er nog wel versterking uit de lage landen. De laatste loodjes...

Re: Robert-Jan has migrated to Mt Olympus

Hi everybody and thank you for all your kind words.

Just washed all of the dirt out of places I could not even imagine would hold dust :-)

Victor thanks for opening this thread. Hope you will like the view over the Red Sea as much as I did. Watch out for that crazy camel with the scuba tank on his back, he still acts strange after a Nitrox experiment :-)

Thanks again all.

Best regards,
Robert-Jan

Re: Robert-Jan has migrated to Mt Olympus

I created a "speech" almost four days ago while I was in a training centre in the UK, I tried posting it a couple of times but I was a bit unfortunate to hit technical problems on the ITRC.

For those of you who do not know me, here is a partial story. I'm 36 working for a Dutch based non-profit organisation in the middle of the Netherlands. I live in a small village near the German border in the south-east of NL. Sports specially diving, skiing and Italian cooking (bayleaves :-) are the things you can wake me up for. I studied economics with IT as a second choice. After school I got a job in an IT consulting firm and followed a 6 months training path for all kinds of OS's and software solutions. Until 98 I've been working as a HPUX system administrator and until know as both HPUX and Solaris admin. When I accepted my latest permanent contract in 2000 I was a bit worried if I could manage to keep up to date on both platforms. During some google searches I found the HPUX forum and I was pleasantly surprised by the enormous amount of good information and the dedication of its members. For almost a year I only read threads and searched the database for answers.

I would like to thank a few people if you are not getting bored :-)

Dan, Cheryl, Gary, Melvyn, Trond and all the others from the ITRC team. Big thanks for moderating and giving us support!

Victor, Jeff, Clay, Pete, Steven, Henk, Geoff, Jan, Mark, Fred, Kent, Uwe, Devender, Nelson, John, Neveej, John K., HGN, Robert, Mel, Shiju, Merijn, Dexter, Ermin, Indira, Joseph, Hoang, Devesh, John P., Ganesha, Vibhor, Renarios, Kurt, Etienne, Deoncia, Dave, Michael, Suraj, Gopi, Stf, Alex, Andrew, Eric, Henk, Cem and last but not least :-) Volkmar.

Good Job an a salute to all on making this the best forum.

Enjoy, Have FUN! (tm)
