If you have remsh enabled on your server,
#remsh server -n " /usr/lbin/modprpw -k root" or reboot your server in single user mode.

If you have openview or tivoli installed you can get a root terminal trough the admin user of that aplication.

In the single user mode, run the following command in order to unlock root account:

/usr/lbin/modprpw -k root

[Morcos]

Go to single user mode hpux -is and reset the password.

Unfortunately had to reboot the server and log in to single usermode amd chnge passwd.


/usr/lbin/modprpw -k root

/usr/sam/lbin/usermod.sam -F -p "" root
