Re: Root--issue
Long term solution: Take an Ignite and restore it
While restoring, there is an advanced tab >> filesystem.. where you could resize your root filesytem
Before performing this, check if you have Free PE available to vg00

Re: Root--issue
this is better that you use Ignite backup of the system and do an Ignite restore from that and while restoring choosing to Reconfigure the size to get bigger root.
Is your root VG having the mirrored LVs?
then take ignite backup and take One disk out and do a restore on the other disk specifying larger size of the LVs choosing the avanced installtion type at the Ignite restore.
As you have the detached Mirrored disk you can put that in and boot the system as a fallback plan.
or you can put in a new bigger disk, miror that, remove one of the disk and ignite restore on the bigger disk and put in another bigger disk and mirror.

Re: Root--issue
Thanks for reply....
(1) Server having a free space on root vg =31Gb and free PE=976
(2)Root VG donn't having a mirrored LV..
(3)Could you please post the steps to perform Ignite tape and Restoration for root vg..also resizing a root LV with bigger size...
and what will be pre-require steps to perform this task...
Thanks

Re: Root--issue
Please Check Attachment "Generic procedure to perform os Restore"
In the document you could see While restoring, there is an advanced tab >> filesystem.. where you could resize your root filesytem
Thanks,
Johnson

Re: Root--issue
There are three ways to resolve "root full" issue:
1. Clear the root file system by deleting unwanted files.
a) du -kx | sort -rn | head -20
b) Trim log files
2. Add another disk to Vg00 and do a pvmove of lvol4 and the extend lvol3 (a hectic method).
3. Take ignite backup of VG00 and restore it, while changing the root fs size.
Also, keep a track of yout root files sys growth size....it should not growing heavily.
