Re: Root Password

See doc id VIKBRC00008973 - "Reactivating the 'root' account and changing the 'root' password" - http://www8.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en&docId=emr_na-c01032306-4

Main idea is to boot into single user mode, mount /usr and change root password.

Re: Root Password

1)After initiating the boot process, hit the "ESC" key & you will see the BOOT_ADMIN> prompt.

2) At the BOOT_ADMIN>, type:
bo pri isl
and Y to ISL.

3) At the ISL>, type:
hpux -is
to goto Single User-mode (password not required).

4) At the command prompt, use 'passwd' to enter new password for root.
be willing to do, be happy to bear

At this point, the system is booted in single-user mode and has limited
functionality. Upon completion of single-user tasks, select the desired
init state to restart the rest of the system.
