root process

I have a process started by root that is taking up a lot of CPU. Any idea what it is and if I can kill it.

Hi Mark:

That is part of STM and there is patch that will fix this. Search the patch database for STM and download the patch.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Do /sbin/init.d/diagnostic stop . Then do, /sbin/init.d/diagnostic start.

Hopefully you should see all the diag* process back again and with lesser cpu utilisation.
(cclogd is the chassis log daemon used in conjuction with Support tools manager to gather system data)

Hi,

Install this patch : PHSS_24044. That will solve your problem. If you don't want the chassis code logging daemon working on your system, then you can kill it.
