rp3440 processor identification anomily?
I noticed something odd today, and would be curious to know if anyone has seen this.
We have an HP rp3440. Here's the guts of the info:
# # model ;\
> echo itick_per_usec/D | adb -k /stand/vmunix /dev/mem ;\
> echo "sc product cpu;il" | /usr/sbin/cstm | grep grep 'CPU Module'
9000/800/rp3440
itick_per_usec:
itick_per_usec: 1000
PA 8800 CPU Module 3.2
PA 8800 CPU Module 3.2
PA 8800 CPU Module 3.2
PA 8800 CPU Module 3.2
Here's the thing: I can't find any piece of documentation that shows the rp3440 supporting the PA 8800; only the 8900.
I know they are both dual core processors, and they are almost the same processor.
All I hope to gain by this post is knowing whether or not they are being mis-identified, or if the PA-8800 is an acceptable processor for the rp3440, while it's documentation just doesn't acknowledge that fact.
Anyone?

Re: rp3440 processor identification anomily?
This document lists both the PA8800 and PA8900 as being available in the rp3440.

Re: rp3440 processor identification anomily?
the quickspecs say
"PA-8800 or PA-8900 processors"
see
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12035_div/12035_div.HTML
(did you use the search function for "8800"?)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: rp3440 processor identification anomily?
This is the reason why the old CPU is not mentioned, because you cannot order it anymore.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
