rpc errors....

One of our site had rpc error and this happens quite frequently. We have 10.20 and i am currently monitoring the nfs. sar -b reports %rcache 100 and %wcache >=90. Is it good? also we have 75 nfsd's and 4 boid's. Is the ratio okay? Can comeone tell me what could be the correct ratio and why? also my /var/statmon/sm.bak has a file(nodename). was this responsible for the rpc error? Thanks in advance.

Brian.

Re: rpc errors....

Hi
I think 75 nfsd is high. We have V-class server only runs around 20 to 30 nfsd with 4 biod.
/var/statmon/* is log files. Do man on sm and statd for more detail.

Re: rpc errors....

iT WAS REPORTED.......
%rcache 100 and %wcache >=90

This is excellent.
Normally read cache is good > 90 and write cache good > 50.

What rcp errors were reported?
It makes a difference and lets us know where to look.

These errors may just be because the service was busy at the time, whatever it is.
