SAM core dump

SAM core dump

We have HP-UX 10.20 running on a K220. Everyt time when I use SAM to access users, it dumps a core. The error message I got is:

UNEXPECTED EXIT: process /usr/sbin/lbin/samx -C -p 25652 -s users
/usr/sam/lib//ug.ui exited with a non-zero exit status.

sh:25797 Bus error (core dump)

SAM works fine when accessing groups. Does anyone have any idea what went wrong? Is there a patch we can load to fix the problem?

Thanks.

Re: SAM core dump

Sounds like you need to patch your system. When was the last patch applied for sam?

Re: SAM core dump

Possible fixes ..

1) swconfig the latest SAM patch and run SAM again to see if you still encounter problem.

2) swconfig \*
and run SAM again.

3) Reinstall existing SAM patch or install the latest one.

The SAM cumulative patch for 10.20 is PHCO_16344 (I'm sure it's already superseeded by other patch)

Re: SAM core dump

My problem has been finally solved. What I did was installing the patch PHCO_22268. It works great! I appreciate all of your replies.

Have a great day!
