SAM error

Hello, hoping someone can help me. A user is getting this after SSHing into an HP Unix SAM box, when starting the GUI monitoring tool:

Connecting to Display...
Connected to X Display
Enabling Measurement...
Measurement Enabled
Loading Configuration(30) from /home/users/kshen01/.gpmhp-rockprd1 ...
Configuration Loaded
Parse Adviser Syntax...
Syntax Parsed
Initialize Shells...
Could not load private color cells - trying shared cells
Shells Initialized
***** FATAL ERROR *******
Module: ../../../present/cw/ddx.c Line: 4613
Message: Attempting to draw with NullColor
***** FATAL ERROR *******

Tried with a couple of different SSH clients and got the same error. Others are able to access from different boxes. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Re: SAM error

Looks to me like you are starting gpm, not sam.

The error could be an environment problem, or a software flaw requiring a patch.

I suppose there could be something in that .gpmhp-rockprd1 file. Maybe it needs to be deleted and rebuilt.

I recommend checking the patch database first.

Re: SAM error

If selecting glance from the SAM menu then try glance all by itself. gpm for gui, glance for cui.

If it works on it's own then weird bug in SAM and we will revert back to the old saying "Never use SAM for anything".

Re: SAM error

Seems that you are coming from linux box and trying to start sam.
On linux system rename .gpm* dirs and try.
There is no substitute to HARDWORK
