samba client workgroups

Could I have more than one group in the workgoup line? (see bellow) If so, please give an example.

Thank you in advance

Kathy

# Workgroup and Domain Definitions
workgroup = mygroup1

# This are the networks allowed to connect using Samba
hosts allow = 10., 172., 192.168.200., 172.16.66.

Re: samba client workgroups

Shalom,

Never tried that.
Try two groups separated by commas, see if samba will run.

You won't hurt anything by trying it.

Re: samba client workgroups

If you are using "security =" domain or ADS, then no. A CIFS/Samba member server can only belong to one Windows domain. Hmmm - that's true for user too, since a Samba domain works on the same concept.

What is it you are trying to do? You may be able to accomplish what you want using Windows trusts.

Re: samba client workgroups

Hi again,

We have users from two different networks trying to map a drive from our UNIX box.
And one of the networks does not allow them to map the drive. I hope this makes sence.

thanks again

Hello Kathy,

You can share another resource and check for that problematic network. Maybe there is some firewall issue.
