Re: Samba Support

I believe that the CIFS/9000 Server product (Samba) started coming on the OS CDs with HP-UX 11.00. I do not know about linux, but I would guess that they support it on linux as well.

HP Support answered my Samba questions back in the 10.20 days, even though it wasn't a supported product then. So kudos to HP.

Re: Samba Support

Hi,

is the CIFS9000 Product any difference than Samba ?

I would suspect that it is based on a specific Samba Version.

Thanks

Re: Samba Support

The HP CIFS/9000 server product consists of Samba source code which has been enhanced with a variety of functional enhancements.

Here's a link that should be helpful:

http://docs.hp.com/en/B8725-90021/ch01s04.html

Hope this helps.

Re: Samba Support

Hi,

thanks for the Information.

Our Windows Network is being updated with Security Patches often. Is there a Forum with relevant Information about MS Patches and Samba Functionality ?

Thanks
