SAP & Oracle shutdown script.
Hi, i'm trying to figure out how to include SAP & Oracle into the shutdown sequence if power loss and the ups runs out of battery.
I'm running on HP-UX 11.11 with Oracle 9.2.05 64 bit. Some help please :)
Thanks!

Re: SAP & Oracle shutdown script.
Hi Wei,
A little more information might help get a response. What kind of setup do you have? Obviously you have a ups. What is the manufacturer?
Regards

Re: SAP & Oracle shutdown script.
Include them the same way they start/stop now...
IE:
su - $SAPADM -c stopsap
Rgds...Geoff

Re: SAP & Oracle shutdown script.
If your system is set to shutdown when power is lost (/etc/ups_conf). Then if there is enough power in your UPS all shutdown scripts will run.
Set a Kill link in /sbin/rc2.d
ln -s /sbin/init.d/oracle /sbin/rc2.d/K100oracle
Same thing for SAP.
There needs to be a standard shutdown script in /sbin/init.d
I'm attaching my oracle shutdown script. Its important to shut oracle down with the application binary owner.
