Screen width too small for some programs (HP5550 )

Hi,

I've noticed that in several programs the screen width is too small. I can't seem to find a way of adjusting this. Can anyone help?

Check the value of the environment variable COLUMNS

They do make 52" LCD's.

Actually we need a little more info:

* what kind of display (X, cde, ...)??
* what are the users using to connect to your application (pc, xterm, serial terminal,...) ?
* what kind of display applications are available to the users (exceed, ..) ?
* what is the application?
