Secure Web
Hi.
My HP Secure Web Console displays following error:
INIT: Command is respawning too rapidly.
id: cons "/usr/sbin/getty console console # system console"
The console is fitted on to a HP 9000 D380 server with HP-UX 10.20 installed.
Does anybody know?
Thanx...

Re: Secure Web
This is usually due to a bad rc script - every time I've seen this in the past is due a bad link in one of the rc2.d directories.
To sort out:
* boot to single user mode
(from isl: hpux -iS)
* check /sbin/init.d
/etc/rc.config.d
/etc/rc?.d
and look for recently changed files/links in there...

Re: Secure Web
This has absolutely nothing to do with you having a secure web console, as David pointed out, you have other issues.

Re: Secure Web
A server has no idea that a secure web console is attached to it. As far as the server is concerned, it thinks the secure web console is just another console. If you remember, you didn't have to install any special software on your server for the SWC to function.
On a SUN server, using Arula's SWC (hp's are really Arula's), you do have to install a few patchs to allow the serial port to become a console. But nothing is needed on HP servers.
