sendmail problem

hi,
incase no one or single user can't able access mail from server as well as send anything to any user(simply send/receive), what we have to check it out first of all(server getting ping from host)

Is it running?

ps -ef |grep sendmail

If not - restart it:

/sbin/init.d/sendmail start

Check for errors in /var/adm/syslog/maillog
