Re: server 9000 problem

What does /etc/shutdownlog says?? Execute the command that you get in EMS message. (But that looks like a disk error)
Check syslog.log file. Is there anything in /var/tombstones/ts99 file?? Does system create crash dump??

Re: server 9000 problem

If you are lucky there will be an entry in /etc/shutdownlog; check there.

You should also execute the resmon commands indicated in the syslog BUT because 3 different devices are reporting these errors, I don't think the disks themselves are the problem. It could be the controller or it could be something as simple as a faulty/missing SCSI terminator, bad cable, or a loose connection. There must be exactly 2 terminators on each SCSI bus -- at the physical ends of the bus and at least one devive on the bus must supply termination power.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: server 9000 problem

It definitely looks like a disk error, you may also want to read through /var/opt/resmon/logs/event.log to get a better idea of which disk is failing

Re: server 9000 problem

Hi,

Your system is having problems accessing the local hard disks. What type of disks are these disks ? I think these are connected to some storage box(DS2100 /DS2300 Etc.) and all the disks which are giving these messages are relating to the same box. This could be due to some cable /terminaltor problem in the connection to that box. Just check the cable/terminator and brief something about physical layout of your system.

Also attach "ioscan -fnC disk" output

thanks

Re: server 9000 problem

Hi,

All error messages in your logs corresponds to the controller at hardware path 52. This needs to check/rectify cable/terminators at both ends on this controllers. You may also try by replacing cables, terminators and if not resolved then card itself.

It seems you are sitting remotely. This need a engineer to be there at site and can not be done remotely. Have a case logged with HP and let them find out but this is the problem apparently.
