an easy question:
i have C110 controller with hp-ux 10.20 operating system. i set date using "date" command, shutdown sytem and next day when i power up date is still same...

is this normal?

I don't think it is normal.
However, you may try to set the dat using the following:

#set_parms date

By the way, I have one like yours C110 and I know it is not Y2K so the date will not be stable. But still it shouldn't be the same date.

hi,

use:
set_parms date

or alternatively SAM.

Shutdown the controller after the change and cold start it again to verify if it is OK.

no it is not normal. after setting date, did u see actually that it was set.
try using sam to set it and try rebooting again.

Hi,

changing the date using 'date' command is temporory(untill reboot), for permanent you should use 'set_parms date' command which changes the /etc/profile where the time zone(TZ) will be defined
