Setup for HP_UX Secure Shell

Hi,

I trying to do the initial setup for HP-UX secure shell. I've gone through the README doc twice to make the setup is correct. The system is at March 2006 11.23. After I configure the chroot directories and try a login i get the following message:

#/opt/ssh/bin/ssh EQ508utl@dbh0d002
Password:
Connection to dbh0d002 closed by remote host.
Connection to dbh0d002 closed.

I tried login with a password and without in the passwd file.

Ideas folks?

Shalom Rob,

Back out the chroot configuration and see if it works.

My guess is either a mistake was made with chroot or the procedure is no good.

I remove the chroot setup and the ID does work. However I do need to implement chroot for this user. When I only create a new home directory for the user as directed by the chroot doc,
i.e. /newroot/./home/:/bin/sh
I get the following in the syslog:
Accepted keyboard-interactive/pam for EQ508utl from 165.189.160.66 port 64937 ssh2
However it still does not allow a login:

#/opt/ssh/bin/ssh EQ508utl@dbh0d002


Password:
Connection to dbh0d002 closed by remote host.
Connection to dbh0d002 closed.

Also try to run ssh in debug mode to see more information.
