sftp setup proceedure?

I'm new to "secure" logins, ftps' etc...
I need to setup a login ID to have sftp rather than plain ftp.

I've been reading through several of these related topic strings, but still I lack info on how I setup a functional sftp account which will be used by another system in a different region.

Any/All help would be greatly appreciated.

swinstall -s /full_path_of_depot \*

Any user account on your system will be able to use sftp if they have a valid client.

useradd accountid

passwd accountid # to set password.

The installation process sets up the sshd daemon to run on the HP-9000 server.

bingo, its an sftp account.

I'm attaching a document on public key encryption that will enable password free login between two users with accounts on to widely separated machines.
