shmem and chatr -m command on informix executable

Hello all,
I want to increase addressable shared mem to an 32 bit informix instance using the chatr -m command. HP and Informix said all that is needed is to change the ininit executable. However a few responses from the informix list serve stated I need to run it against all the executables in the bin dir. This seems like over kill to me...but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Anyone with experience or thoughts on this issue?
