simplex for PCL5.nloo

A network printer using PLC5.nloo.
I've a question about simplex and duplex while printing. use "lp -dprint_name -oduplex /tmp/1.txt" , the outputs is double for one page. But, -osimplex seems not workable on PCL5.nloo. Does anyone has knows how to print single for one page on PCL5.nloo?

Thanks.

Re: simplex for PCL5.nloo

Hi,
what happens if you leave out the -oduplex ?
If you need the option to set to duplex, the default should be simplex.

Re: simplex for PCL5.nloo

But in my environment, the default is "duplex" in PCL5.nloo
I also can not find "simplex" to change the option.

I've try to configure another network printer and using net_lj5x. Then it can use -oduplex or -osimplex

So, wherther or not PCL5.nloo doesn't "simplex" function. But this is not
make sense. Please advise. Thanks in advanced.

simplex is simply not an option in that script. If you look dor duplex= you'll see it in only two places. This is a very old script and does not have a way to turn off duplex when it is the default in the script. You'll have to modify the script to add the simplex option yourself. Note that PCL5.nloo was designed only for direct-connect printers (see the RS-232 stty setups several places in the script). The net_ljx000 is the general purpose script used for all HP JetDirect printers anhd has the options you need.

Do you need the nloo (Native Language) features? If not, replace the printer's script with the net_ljx000 script and simple will now work.
