Single user mode

Hi,

Is there a command to get into single user mode from bootup? I've interupted the boot process but I'm not sure how to get into the maintenance mode.

Thanks

Re: Single user mode

at the ISL prompt type

hpux -is to enter the single user mode

or

hpux -lm to enter maintenance mode
There is no good troubleshooting with bad data

Re: Single user mode

Warning with hpux -lm could be dangerous for files system "-lm" is without LVM.

Re: Single user mode

There is something to add?

Use the maintenance mode only if you need to modify the LVM configuration and NEVER change to an other run level from this mode! You better forget the init command when you booted the box with hpux -lm

For normal maintenance use the single user mode "hpux -is"

Re: Single user mode

.... and after you finish "#reboot" the system don't change run level.

Re: Single user mode

At commnad prompt type "bo" and choose "y" for "yes to interact with ISL"
isl>hpux -is
Make sure you use reboot and don't change to anothe run level.

Cheers!
