Re: Single user on Itanium

I need to extend /tmp file system. I just try an init 1 from console and get the message:

"Transition to run level 1 is complete"

and finally i be able to extend the /tmp; however i wish to know how to do a "real" single user transition.

Re: Single user on Itanium

Hi Andres,

You should do these to go to single user:
1. shutdown vpar2
2. from vpar0 or vpar1, execute:
# vparboot -p -o is

see on the monitor and you will boot up to single user

Re: Single user on Itanium

Hi Andres,

Here is the procedure to boot a vpar in Single user mode. You can use two methodes,

1.From Vpar Monitor prompt ,

# vparload -p vPar2 -o "-is"

2.From shell prompt of other Vpars,

# vparboot -p vPar2 -o "-is"
