Re: snapshot

If you are referring to vxfs filesystem snapshots, then man mount_vxfs. These snapshots are all but instantaneous because the entire filesystem is not copied. The snapshot actually consists of the original filesystem + a snapshot buffer that stores the image of the original filesystem blocks before the first write to a given block after the snapshotting occurs.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: snapshot

I have it and I have NO clue as to how I came about getting it. Weird. If I remember tomorrow, and I find it, I'll post the source.

Re: snapshot

Hi,

If you want vxfs snapshots here is how you get to the latest ones:

DOC ID: UFSKBRC00006731
Or Try ITRC knowledge trees:

HP-UX Operating System --> Volume Management --> Filesystems --> Basic-JFS (VxFS) or online JFS (advanced) --> Online JFS

There is also another good resource in HP-UX Software Recovery Handbook,
Knowledge trees:
HP-UX Software Recovery Handbook --> Chapter 18 - JFS/OnlineJFS
